Daniel Trenner

Trenner, Daniel
Daniel Trenner

Daniel Trenner is a native New Yorker who in his decade of experience exploring the hidden world of Tango in Argentina, has unraveled its mysteries and developed a key for understanding the code of this lovely dance. His unique teaching style is based on translating the culture of Argentine social dance. He teaches games and exercises for understanding the principles of lead and follow, while relating the anecdotes and stories of the countless older dancers, or milongueros, he interviewed in Buenos Aires.

He is the founder of Bridge to the Tango, an organization dedicated to creating connections between the social dance communities in N. America, Europe, and Argentina. He has performed and taught in more than seventy cities on four continents. Prior to his involvement with the tango he was a dancer and teacher of jazz and improvisation. He was the founder of the Chakta Dance Ensemble in Boston, and danced with the Brenda Bufalino Jazz and Tap Company in New York. His tango is influenced by his extensive contact with the older milongueros in Buenos Aires during the last ten years. His teachers include, Miguel and Nelly, Antonio Todaro, Mingo and Esther Pugliese, Juan Bruno, Pepito Avellendda, Rodolfo & Maria, and Tomi O'Connell. He holds a Master of Education in dance.

In this collection, Daniel's partner is Brooke Burdett. Brooke has been dancing the tango for many years. She started with Daniel and has traveled to Buenos Aires where she danced socially and studied with Juan Bruno, Mingo and Esther Pugliese,Gustavo Naveira, Eduardo Arquimbau, and Tomi O'Connell. She is a life long dancer, and athlete. In dance her studies have been centered around the art of improvisation.
