Starting with Ballet at the age of 5, and continuing with folk dancing and music education at age 6, Olga was a full-time student learning all that music and dance has to offer. At the age of 9 she was accepted to the premier Vaganova’s Ballet school in Leningrad, but decided to continue pursuing her music education.
Olga discovered Ballroom dancing as a teen. While balancing her passion for dancing, she was working at Hermitage and studying for Masters in Art History at St.Petersburg State University.
After moving to the US, Olga spent a few years teaching Art, Music and Russian language before re-discovering Ballroom dancing. This time it became a true passion. She trained rigorously with the best coaches and successfully competed for 10 years, winning World Class Smooth, best student award, 10-dance International, 9-dance American and Theater Arts at numerous competitions throughout US.
Right after being diagnosed with cancer, Olga went on to her 1st Nationals where she won the Pre-Championship Smooth and advanced into Championship Smooth final. After beating cancer, and getting on a cover of Amateur Dancer magazine, Olga won the Senior 1 Smooth Championship in 2008 and has opened her studio in Houston, TX. She received a number of invitations to do professional shows, coaching and lecturing in North and in Latin America.
As a certified professional instructor with an analytical mind and a natural dancer, Olga enjoys coaching, travelling as an adjudicator, and finding new ways to incorporate the best technique while sharing her passion for dancing.
Olga is currently teaching in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
